Maria Benita Ochoa-Regala, FUAP, ASEAN

A graduate of the University of Sto. Tomas with a Bachelors Degree in Architecture, she holds two diploma certificates, Diploma on Infrastructure for Low-Income Urban Housing from the Water Engineering Center, Leicestershire University, England and Shelter Design and Development, form Lund University in Lund Sweden. She also has a Masters degree on Government Management from the Pamantasan ng Lungson ng Maynila, and a member of the Career Executive Service Eligibles (CES Eligible) of the Civil Service Commission.
A professional architect with over thirty three (33) years of experience in housing development and low –income infrastructure, innovative housing technologies, gender awareness, relocation and resettlement, community development works, as well as, urban renewal projects. Over the years, she has become an expert on housing and has since been invited as a resource person in several conferences both here and abroad. Her accomplishments include the planning and implementation of several mass housing projects and low-rise buildings all over the country, catering to the low-income sector. She is the Department Manager of the Housing Technology Development Office of the National Housing Authority, the production arm of the government in the delivery of socialized housing sector for the low income sector.
Elevated to the UAP College of Fellows in 2013, for her outstanding work in public service, she continues to serve the organization in promoting and protecting the architecture profession. Recently conferred “Asean Architect” by the Professional Regulation Commission among 40 other architects in the country. The 4th Lady President and 24th National President of the United Architects of the Philippines.
